My 7 year old asked me if we’ve given 5 stars to all the Wings of Fire books yet and when will the movie be ready? I’m still partially deaf in one ear from the level of screaming that occurred in our house when the book arrived. We are only on Chapter 10 of the sixth book yet craving at least 10 more additional books. I hope this series never ends.
I am so impressed how TTS created an entirely new character as the main dragon in this book. I’m afraid to say too much because I don’t want to give any part of the plot away. Each book is more riveting than the last. Last words of the chapter propel you right into the next– “MURDER!.” “KEEP READING!!!” “I’ll have a new dragon to print out!”
As an adult, with a degree in Comparative Literature, these are my favorite books ever. As a parent, at first, I was worried about some of the violence, but we managed around it and would not want the material geared for younger ages. My son started reading at 2– my daughter at 3. They were probably 5 and 7 when we started reading Wings of Fire. It was a judgment call we do not regret. They color and cut out the dragons. Draw their own dragons. Act out the scenes. Write their own stories. And most importantly, have fallen in love with reading.
