My nephew had a very hard time in high school and was unable to complete it through traditional channels. With some work, we refocused his energy onto obtaining the GED to ensure he was not left behind and was able to have the sense of accomplishment and pride that comes with completing such an important milestone in a young persons life.

We needed an easy to follow, concise and clear book, since we could not afford a tutor or special classes. This book did exactly that.

This Kaplan study guide breaks down the exam in a way I think makes sense; what is on the test and how do I pass it.

My nephew instantly got his confidence back and his nerves went away when he knew what to expect, and this book gave him that foresight.

This book basically breaks down the test into the competency areas, Math, English, etc. Then is prepares you in a method similar to their SAT test prep. They use two stages. One stage is to give you an idea of the information needed and try to teach it to you in the simplest, laymen’s terms. The other is through example and practice tests.

We took the first practice test to get an idea on where he was at skill level. Then we went through the book cover to cover. When we took the second test, he had already improved to above the passing mark. From there we went back to the areas he struggled with and studied those in more detail. Long story short, he PASSED FIRST TRY!!

This book will act as your own personal tutor. If you learn from example or through study, this book has you covered. Each topic broken down in easily digestible pieces.

The GED is important and I am sure that you are taking it quite serious if you are reading this review.
